Through the efforts of numerous individuals summer baseball returned to Ernie Vivion Field in 2017 as a member of the MINK League.
With an active board of directors and numerous fundraisers, the Jefferson City Renegades became a summer staple in the Jefferson City region. The team also had success on the field winning the MINK League championship in 2023.
The baseball field was originally built in the 1950s for the Jefferson City Red Jays, a minor league team. It was renamed in 1963 to honor Ernie Vivion, the coach of the team who passed away unexpectedly in 1962 at age 46.
Ernie Vivion Field now serves as the home field for Lincoln University’s baseball team as well as the Renegades.
