JEFFERSON CITY RENEGADES

MEMBER OF THE DIAMOND BASEBALL LEAGUE

AN EXCITING NEW LEAGUE!

The Diamond Baseball League (DBL) is a professional-grade collegiate summer baseball league which will begin play in 2026. The League has secured its six inaugural markets in Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska, which include first class facilities and multi-year stadium leases.

The league will own and operate each of the six inaugural teams to ensure operational consistency and efficiency and the long-term financial security and growth of the League. The DBL leadership team has over 100 years of combined professional sports experience, including ownership and operation of collegiate summer, independent and minor league teams, and leadership positions in Major League Baseball. To learn more about the DBL visit www.thedbl.com.

YOUR TEAM!

The Jefferson City team will play at Ernie Vivion Field via a multi-year lease agreement with the Jefferson City Parks & Recreation Department.   The DBL has plans to invest in enhancing the stadium and fan experience with the addition of a dedicated ticketing and merchandise area, concession upgrades, a covered area for picnics and groups and expanded promotions and in-game entertainment.

During the inaugural 2026 season, Jefferson City will play a 50-game schedule from May 28 through August 1, followed by playoffs. The Jefferson City franchise will hire a full-time staff that will reside in the market, and a coaching staff that will secure and manage the team’s roster under NCAA guidelines.

As a career development tool, the DBL, similar to other college summer leagues, will utilize wood bats, as opposed to NCAA play, in which players utilize aluminum bats. This experience is often a player’s indoctrination to the wood bats they will use as professionals.

Players will live with “host families” in Jefferson City during the season which often creates long-enduring relationships between these families and the players – sometimes extending throughout the player’s Major League career. Host families will receive benefits from the team (e.g., season tickets, exclusive special events, merchandise discounts) for participating in the host family program.

With a new league coming to Jefferson City, it’s time for a new team name. Visit https://jeffcityrenegades.com/name-jefferson-citys-team/ and submit your entry in the name the team contest.
